I don't know who the man is leaning against the truck but the photo was so great. I have to see if my Mother know who the man is. It may mean that I have to take the photo off the page but I hope it's family!
Looking at pictures from my past really digs up memories. It's like a thread that I follow that goes from topic to topic. After working on the picture of my very first roommate it makes me remember the very next one which was a nightmare. She came apart at the seams when it didn't take a detailed message like I was her secretary or something, she screamed when I went to a movie with her younger brother. I was 7 months older and it "just wasn't right". Egads, you'd think I was going to seduce him or something. We were just friends. We both liked movies. He took me to see Star Wars. He started my addiction.
I played in a band. It was hard work. the hardest was set up and sound checks for our shows. We went to Houston and recorded a demo. Pretty boring. I wasn't set up for the musician lifestyle. The pictures aren't great but they did make me remember. Maybe someday I'll dig up the posters I have for a couple of our shows.
When I left Japan I really thought I'd never look back. However, there are some things I miss. It was fabulously easy to clean, 2 hours max. I couldn't accumulate too much because there wasn't any room. I really appreciate that now. I also lost a lot of weight because I had to ride my bike or walk nearly everywhere in town. I didn't spend a lot of time at home. I made a lot of money and didn't have many bills. sigh. It was a good time. Why did I want to get married???
Here are some other features of my apartment. In order to make the kitchen photo I had to join three photos together. It didn't work really well but it gives an idea.
this one was interesting, the template inspired the pictures to be used, the notebook paper and staples suggested school and the only school photo I had were of me leaving school.
Also, I was working on this one when I had the little beer incident, all is well though! Whew!
So I had to get back to work, even though I should be doing housework or bills or something mundane but I just can't get motivated. These are pictures I scanned with Ritha's wonderful scanner (Canon 9950). It is an old style disk film which has 15 pictures around a center wheel. I scan the negative at 1200 dpi, select and copy the entire photo area I want to use, immediately create a new document which just happens to be the size of the photo area I just copied. Of course it include ugly edges and things and it is crooked, and every which way since the photos are around the wheel. However, Photoshop has that lovely and easy to use straighten tool. Once the picture is straight I can crop it easily. Since I scanned them at 1200 dpi I can blow them up quite a bit. I was actually looking to pay a company to do that for me. I'm so glad I tried it on my own first. I just saved hundreds of dollars. Of course the pictures aren't great but it's fun to look at them.

I finally finished the scanning. I found these photos which I thought I'd lost. This was a really fun trip. Really fun to scrap too.
I loved this story when my Mom told me. The smile on my Grandmother's face is wonderful - I think she's really having a good time. I'll check and see how closely you're looking - I did something cool to 3 of the 4 photos.
I got a lot of scanning done today and just had to use some of the photos. I also used a paper template to make the paper. Very fun. I cut out the part of my Mom's handwriting with the pictures where it existed. I want to do quite a bit of journaling on this page but I need to write it first and run it by my Mom to get the facts straight.
that I hate my picture but I actually like this one. I wish I could remember more about this when and where the picture was taken. I know that the shirt was one of my favorites during my senior year so that dates the photo a bit.
I went to my Mom's house and glommed (is it a word, if it is how do you spell it - I'll worry about that later) onto gobs of family pictures. I'm madly scanning and will have a great wealth of photos to choose from very soon! Here are pictures of me, my sister, and my niece. They'll be making their debut soon!
check out the google reader - you're gonna love it. I can see on one page which of you has posted a new piece to their blog - works really great all on one page.
also I'm using font book to management my fonts on my mac. There should be something available for pc too.
google search del.icio.us (with the dots). They'll store your book marks or favorites so you can have access to them anywhere - very cool. You have your own private account wch your favorites are stored under. It has a tagging feature which allows you to organize your similar types - blogs scrapbooking, news, or whatever tag you like. There are probably other products but I love this one.
Ok, this was truly hard. The pictures were of really bad quality so I admitted it right up front. However, I did use a brush font so I got the hand stamped quality on my photo labels. Lots of work but worth it I think.
Ok, I took my time today and had some fun. I've got a really painful hip so moving is really hard today - actually even sitting is difficult but what else I am to do... This is a picture of my sister who is now over 35 (I won't reveal her real age - that is up to her...). The real picture of her was taken in my parents kitchen and has half a table, chair legs, and very dark. However, Kellie popped out pretty good so I extracted her from the photo and blew her up. I even changed the color of her clothes to match my chosen papers. The photo needed some touching up but it didn't turn out too bad.
I'm getting faster... Now I HAVE to get more memory for my Mac. It really slows me down... But it works better than my PC so this is what I'll go with. Here's tonight's handiwork.
This is so fun. I probably overscrapped this page but I kept thinking of techniques I wanted to try on the page so I just kept going. Yikes -too much fun.
